Stuart Charles Mount, III, of Lincoln, NE, passed away peacefully on July 3rd, 2025, surrounded by his daughters and supportive staff at Colfax Senior Living.
Son of Stuart Charles Mount II and Elaine Mount, Stuart was born in Chicago, IL on December 20, 1953. The family soon moved to Lincoln, Nebraska where Stuart earned his Eagle Scout badge, diploma from Lincoln East High School (1972) and an MBA from University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Stuart wed and started a family, becoming a devoted father to daughters, Jessica and Sarah in Northwestern Wisconsin.
A lifelong collector, Stuart found value in every treasure—classic Corvettes and Cadillacs (he was coined “the Cadillac man of Lincoln” for his collection of more than 65 cars), stamps, records, beer cans and more—each a reflection of his curious mind. Whether playing harmonica or bass, golfing, attending Grateful Dead shows with lifelong friends, or traveling to support the big red, Stuart was a person you could count on for advice, help or a laugh.
Stuart is survived by his greatest pride and joy, daughters Jessica Mount (Eau Claire, WI, 37) and Sarah (Tucson, AZ, 36). He was also a caring brother to his three younger siblings Karla Pirruccello (Mount), Robert Mount and Jim Mount and a trusted friend to many.
A celebration of Stuart’s life will be held at Hillcrest Country Club in Lincoln Nebraska on September 9. In lieu of sending flowers, help a neighbor, do a kind deed, or call your kids—Stu would have liked that.
UPDATE: A graveside service will be held September 9th at Fairview Cemetary located at 84th and Adams St in Lincoln, at 12:00 pm. A gathering will be held at Hillcrest Country Club immediately following the service.
